About

Our team

Jon Lloyds team are trained in many different aspects of design and build. From product design to CAD, from pattern-making to bench joinery. All, crucially, have extensive workshop experience. We work with a wide range of materials, allowing us to build many different type of projects.

Our light-filled workshop is fully-equipped and spacious. We have the machining capability to batch-produce large runs of furniture and a beautiful display of hand tools that allow us to perfect the finer finishes on all of our pieces.

Jon Lloyd

Made by Jon Lloyd is a Bristol-based furniture and 3D design practice founded in 2014. Jon gained his experience from working as a freelance fabricator in the creative industries in London from 2004 to 2014. He built structures and installations for theatre, exhibition, editorial, television, film and retail. Some of his clients included Wallpaper magazine, The Royal Opera House and the V&A.

Towards the end of his time in London he was commissioned to build the display furniture and scenery for an exhibition within the gallery at the Royal institute of British architecture in central London. The exhibition was a complete success and Jon was then commissioned to build the next 4 exhibitions back to back. He had the privilege of working with some cutting edge designers and since making these contacts he has fallen into the world of hand-made bespoke furniture and installations.

Our current clients include The Victoria and Albert Museum, William Morris Museum,  National Archives, Caruso St John, Aberant Architecture, Karakusevic – Carson, AOC, APPARATA and Carmody Groake.
